Persist IPv6 Address until lifetime expires

Post by mammali » 23 Jul 2019, 10:09

Hello Dimitry,

Last time when i was testing accel-ppp, every reconnection, it was getting new IPv6 address. Is there any way to persist untill lifetime of IPv6 ?

Hello, you mean about ipv6 prefix or delegated ipv6 prefix?
I think it's possible send it by RADIUS attribute Framed-IPv6-Prefix

I see the same issue, we need to keep the delegated-ipv6prefix till lifetime expires. sending Delegated ipv6 address from Radius is not an easy task, especially users are more than a thousand

Hello, can we keep the IPv6 address prefixes (both PD and ipv6 prefix) until its lifetime expires?

It's pretty easy to do from RADIUS. The policy layer belongs in AAA, not in the BNG. Look into FreeRADIUS + the ip pool module it has.

I think this way, the radius will set ipv6 PD for all the users. this is not the proper way to do it. Cisco, Huawei, and other BNGs are doing it, then why not accel-ppp? why radius push prefix to clients who are not requesting IA_PD!
